At ID®, the UN global sustainability goals are a natural part of our strategy and policy. We work towards a better and more sustainable future.

At ID® we work with the
UN Sustainable Development Goals on a daily basis

All employees, dealers and external partners work with the goals on a daily basis – but in their own ways. The goal of a more sustainable future is something we all strive for and it’s essential that everyone contributes, because together we make a bigger difference.

Sustainability has not only become part of our collection, but also a natural part of all our processes, strategies and our DNA. CARE is one of our keywords – it’s a word with many meanings and is incorporated into all our processes.

Focus on our contribution

ID® wants to ensure we make a real impact, and for this reason we’ve analysed the 17 global goals and selected six areas to focus on. Instead of having a minimal impact on achieving all 17 goals, we’re determined to have a greater impact on fewer. That is why we are focusing on these specific goals.

We only work with factories that have a social compliance system which ensures the employees receive their wages on time and in accordance with the law, and ensure that the wages match the country’s standard of living. We require our suppliers to sign our Code of Conduct and to be members of amfori BSCI or Smeta.

Health and well-being are important to us – both when it comes to staff at ID® and suppliers in other parts of the world. Through our certifications – OEKO-TEX®, GOTS and the EU Ecolabel – we set high standards to avoid and reduce the use of hazardous substances and chemicals and promote a healthy life for all.

Education and knowledge are tools that enable people to develop and create change. Education helps ensure respectable wages, better health and gender equality. Every year we support a local school in Dhaka, Bangladesh for children aged 6–14, so they can continue their education year after year.

As a workplace, ID® is characterised by a sense of community, trust and good working conditions. When we visit our suppliers, we promote decent working conditions and demand that factories have a social compliance system in line with the ILO conventions and that production is carried out in a responsible way that ensures workers’ rights, health and safety.

From the start of the product development phase, we strive to select the best raw materials so we can produce long-lasting, durable products. We also take the necessary care to avoid the use of hazardous substances and chemicals during production and avoid any traces in the finished products – for the protection of the workers, the users and the environment. We focus on reducing the use of new materials, sorting waste, and recycling whenever possible.

Our suppliers are our most important partners. Their understanding of our company and willingness to develop their product to support our strategies are crucial to a sustainable collaboration. We also collaborate with the Danish Technological Institute, OEKO-TEX®, the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the EU Ecolabel, Control Union, GOTS as well as other organisations in the textile sector, including amfori, ACCORD, Global Compact, Bureau Veritas, Hohenstein and other stakeholder organisations.
